The Ram Progression
We develop the complete lacrosse player at Rams Lacrosse Club using the Ram Progression.
On-field methodology stems directly from skills and drills used at the collegiate level at Colorado State University, a six-time MCLA national champion. We supplement traditional field lacrosse drills with innovative “box” techniques that improve stickwork, help players communicate at a high level, understand the game, and most importantly, enjoy the sport of lacrosse.
Every practice includes work on each of the following areas of focus:
- Offensive IQ
- Offensive Transfers (passing)
- Defensive Approaches
- Defensive Communication
We teach each of these areas using the Ram Progression – building up individual skills first in order to work into small group techniques. Those techniques are then built into small sided competition and finally more full-field situations. The Ram Progression is a logical method that helps players understand HOW to play the game of lacrosse rather than worry about WHAT they are doing.
All of this on-field work is then joined with our core values of Family, Hard Work, and Greatness to synthesize the program and bring cohesion from top to bottom.
