Coach Smith has over 12 years of coaching experience at all levels, including youth, high school, collegiate and professional. Amassing an impressive 96 wins in just six seasons as the head coach of Colorado State University from 2010-2015, Coach Smith has experience helping players of all positions reach their potential.
As a 2003 graduate of Colorado State University, he was the first-ever player from the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association to play in Major League Lacrosse and was on the roster of the Denver Outlaws from 2006-2010. He has won the MCLA National Coach of the Year award twice (2010, 2013) and has been a part of six national championship teams - three as a player, one as an assistant coach and two as a head coach. In 2015, Smith was named to the CSU men's lacrosse Hall of Fame.
Coach Smith graduated from Colorado State University in 2003 with a degree in English. He completed his Masters at the University of Northern Colorado in 2014 with a degree in Sports Coaching and Administration. Smith lives in Fort Collins with his wife, Tiana, and his four children - Tucker, Quincy, Sam and Molly.
There is a pretty good chance you have seen Bonnie at or around lacrosse in Northern Colorado for much of the past decade. Her son Nik recently graduated Thompson Valley HS in Loveland to attend NCAA Division II Adams State University. Bonnie is one of the most well-respected lacrosse-people in the region having helped with the Vipers, Thompson Valley and the RLC. She and her husband Jeff have been extremely instrumental in keeping the lacrosse world spinning.
Each team will feature hand-selected coaches from the best that Northern Colorado has to offer. With a plethora of current and former CSU players, past and current Fort Collins natives playing collegiate lacrosse elsewhere, and local youth and high school coaches, you are sure to receive the best instruction and care possible.
